For one, I like to stand aside highly sensitive people (HSP), because they feel and perceive differently, more intensely, in more detail. And many of them do not even know of their high sensitivity! Yet, one person in five or six carries the gifts and burdens of high sensitivity. They can feel overwhelmed and even paralysed and not know why. Crises and turmoils in times of change weigh heavily on highly sensitive people. That makes it all the more important to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. It is important to live by one’s own standards and individual core values instead of comparing oneself to others and thus become dependent on the judgment of people who may not fully understand the highly sensitive person. It is important to become aware that high sensitivity is no weakness. On the contrary: it is a precious and underestimated power that should get and take much more room in the world.–– And I also like to work with gifted people, because their ways of thinking often go different and alternative ways and can even be really unique. That can cause them to be misunderstood or even involuntarily offend some people. They can be judged before they even get a chance to develop their line of thought. That makes it all the more important to have a non-judgmental space where to test new ideas in a non-committal way and explore new venues that come from this original thinking, before they are being translated into real life. And then there are all the people who sense an impulse or even an urge for change. They sense a task or a calling growing within them, that is already having effects on their life but still remains diffuse. They do not know where to go from there. Such impulses often relate to concret topics like work. But they can hide a deeper sense. That what is really important and meaningful to our life reports in and wants to become part of our life. With a coach, you can build up an inner guidance system on how to make things real: Where do I stand today, and where should I go from here? You can find your polar star that shows you the right direction even in stormier times. When the direction is set, the next steps in your life appear quite naturally.

By being truly honest with yourself, find balance and inner

reconciliation - instead of standing in your life’s way

I also like to work with people who feel that they want to depart from the many opposites and polarisations in the world. They do not want to define themselves against others, but instead out of their inner core. They do not want to divide the world into right and wrong, oppressor and victim, good and bad any more. They do not want to have to choose sides. They see that all the divides between opposites do not run between humans, but through each of them. Including through themselves. They want to solve these opposites within themselves instead of projecting them on others. For example, they strive to bring peace between their inner man and their inner woman, instead of holding one gender in contempt and resentment, thus ruining their chances of ever having a good and fulfilling relationship with this gender. This is about bringing back the inner parts into balance again, one by one, to build an inner oneness. They want to own responsibility for their life - including its darker sides. They acknowledge that their current life is the result of the decisions they made earlier in life (or refused to make). And they are aware that their future life is the result of the decisions they will make now (or refuse to make). And they want to decide the right way. They are ready to ponder and review the ordeals of life up to now - as seminal teaching experiences trying to show them where to go and what to change. Perhaps some of these experiences, as painful as they may have been, are loving gifts of life supposed to make as grow up and unfold and prepare us for more. Perhaps life is even giving the more painful ordeals to those it holds in highest regards - so that they can master something really special? Those who want to restore a balance in the world have to start within themselves and solve their inner conflicts, bridge their inner divides. As long as conflicts reigns in the inside, it will try to find means to project itself outside, by choosing sides, finding allies, defining opponents and locking horns with them, interpreting the world in oppressor-victim-saviour triads, feeding strife and self-righteousness - consciously or unconsciously. An appeased world cannot be made of fractured people. You cannot build a solid house with fractured bricks. Many do not know how to do this. But they may have reached a point where they want to leave the game and start being honest with themselves, radically honest. People like this forebode that they will have to let go a certain number of stories they have been telling themselves about who they are and why the world is how the world is. When we identify with the stories we tell ourselves instead of being one with our inner core, then all these stories about us and the world do not connect us with the world, but separate us from it. They form a veil that at some point needs to be lifted. “Radical” comes from the Latin word “radix” and means: “going to the root”. The purpose here is to live out of our own heart, out of our own core and root, instead of living out of stories by which we tell ourselves that the world has to be this and that and why we have to be this and that and not something different, perhaps entirely different. When we get out of our role costumes, we may cease pressing others into role costumes because we needed to cast them into these roles to make our own stories about us, them and the world work. Once we take off the stories and roleplay, true authenticity can arise. What happens if we give up the stories and have a good, honest look at ourself, without being judged (and without judging ourself)? It may well be that life then starts to flow through us from an inner source, instead of our running after it and yet standing in the way of its natural flow.

We do this together

On this path through honesty towards clarity, a possible phase of confusion is natural. Moments of grief can also come up when we let go of old stories and beloved certainties that used to carry us through life. But by leaning on them, we were bent and did not walk upright and on our own. Confusion is possible, but that is fine: we do this together. Always gently, respectfully, one step after another. But also with honesty. And we only go as far as you are ready and give permission to go. With all the breaks you may need. After that, life may continue with an identity that has a more “upright walk”, that is more authentic, draws on strengths that come from the inner core. And when you start shining in your own true colours, then the next steps of the life path become visible in that light. That life path is something you then will have to walk on your own. No coach can do that in your place.
